Minette Valentine currently serves as Training Coordinator with ICESA.  She attended the University of Indianapolis where she received her Bachelor of Art in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Nonprofit Management.  She went on to attain her Masters in Mental Health Counseling and her Law Degree from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois.  Minette has worked in Foster Care agencies serving in various roles such as Licensing Coordinator, Quality Assurance Manager and Regional Manager.  Minette has years of experience working with youths and families with severe trauma and mental illness.  She has also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Marion County, Indiana advocating for abused and neglected children.  Minette has written policies that have been implemented by the Juvenile Courts for homeless youths.  Prior to joining ICESA, Minette served as Region 1 Coalition Coordinator with the Indiana Trafficking Victims Assistance Program (ITVAP) – providing education to communities; service providers; law enforcement; educators; healthcare professionals; youth and many more on the importance of recognizing and reporting human trafficking.  In addition, she provided referral and case management for youth who were 21 and under and experience human trafficking.  She currently serves as co-chair of Region 1 Human Trafficking Coalition. Anti-trafficking and sexual violence hits very close to home with Minette and she is passionate about bringing education and awareness to communities and serving as an advocate and a voice for the voiceless.  Minette is also the founder of Pearls of Wisdom International - an organization focusing on educating and empowering girls who are survivors of sexual exploitation as well as providing mental health education for the community.  Apart from these, Minette is also a Conflict Management/Resolution Specialist and Motivational Interviewer and puts this into practice by serving as a Domestic Mediator in the state of Illinois.
