Stalking isn’t a Punchline… Stalking isn’t Glamorous… Stalking is Dangerous (Webinar)

This webinar will provide a brief introduction to stalking including statistics, prevalence, and common characteristics of stalking situations. We will then discuss how stalking can intersect with intimate partner and/or sexual violence and how stalking it is perceived in our current society and what we can do to help survivors. This webinar is designed for those who have basic experience in working with traumatized individuals.

About our Presenter: Jennifer (Jennie) Reister has been working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence and stalking for over fourteen years. Jennie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Purdue University and a Master of Leadership Development from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Jennie began her career with The Julian Center in 2006 as an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department advocate and was promoted to Outreach Services Manager in 2009. In 2013, she became the Director of Non-Residential Services supervising five programs within The Julian Center. In late 2017, she was promoted to the Senior Director of Mission Impact where she focuses on community education, professional skills training, project management and community partnerships. Jennie also serves as a law enforcement liaison with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department as well as other local jurisdictions and has been an Indiana Law Enforcement Academy certified instructor in domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking since 2011. In 2015, Jennie received her certification as a Title IX Administrator in order to more effectively build programming with local universities and colleges. Since 2016, Jennie has served with the Office of Violence Against Women as a peer reviewer for grant application evaluation process in Washington D.C. Jennie’s specialty areas include community education, grant proposal  writing and organizing/implementing large-scale collaborative projects within the community to affect change at both an institutional and agency level to benefit our community.
