Digital Storytelling: Empowering Survivors and Communities Through Personal Stories (Webinar)

February 6 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Research shows that sharing and listening to real people’s real stories can improve individual health and well being, educate and mobilize communities, inspire people to take action for change, and influence progressive policymaking. Since the early 1990s, StoryCenter has been exploring how first-person storytelling and participatory media practices can support sexual assault prevention education and advocacy. In this one-hour introductory webinar, StoryCenter staff member Amy Hill will discuss the theoretical underpinnings, methods, and impacts of the organization’s sexual assault work and create space for questions and discussion about what resources and capacities are necessary for organizations interested in developing storytelling efforts.
