Register for Spring CORE 40

This session of CORE 40 runs through March 18th – 22nd from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm.

CORE 40 is a free training course for Sexual Assault Advocates working with victims of sexual assault in Rape Crisis Centers or Dual/Multi- Service Organizations. Training topics offer “core” knowledge and skills and range from Neurobiology of Trauma to Immediate and Long-Term Impacts of Sexual Violence to Best Practices When Working with Law Enforcement. All classes are taught by professionals working in their field.

*Notes about registration: Sexual Assault Advocates must attend all courses to be eligible for certification. For everyone else, you will still be registered for all courses, but feel free to join just the class you want attend. Only the person registered will be able to receive credit.

Did you miss the Human Trafficking Prevention Month Conference?

If you were not able to attend the Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow conference live, you can register below, and view on your own time. You will experience presenters as they review the history of human trafficking in the US, recent and current efforts to combat human trafficking in Indiana, and collaborations to enhance efforts moving forward. Special topics this year will include understanding exploitation of males, expanding labor trafficking awareness across the state, and the overlap between child marriage and familial trafficking.

Coffee with the Coalition

Coffee with the coalition is our monthly topical training series. Did you miss our Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow – Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month Conference?

Below you will be able to access the recordings from the conference. The conference recordings encompass the history of Rape Crisis Centers (RCCs), tips for service providers, how changes in the Indiana state legislature have affected RCCs, information from the Department of Child Services, a confidentiality training, and much more.

*For this conference we have been approved for 12.5 CLE credits under course #322488 for attorneys, 6.0 CEUs for behavioral health credits that can be used for social work credits, and 3.0 law enforcement CEUs.

Indiana’s New Abortion Law: An Information and Discussion Session

On Monday, September 12, 2022, ICESAHT’s own Beth White and Dr. Caroline Rouse, IU School of Medicine Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology, discussed Indiana’s new abortion law that goes into effect September 15, 2022. During the session, they:

  • Summarized Indiana’s new abortion law
  • Discussed what is — and what isn’t in the law
  • Considered what is still unclear
  • Reviewed what Rape Crisis Centers and sexual assault advocates can do to help rape and incest survivors
  • Answered questions

CORE 40

CORE 40 is a free training course designed primarily for sexual assault advocates working with victims of sexual assault and human trafficking in Rape Crisis Centers or Dual/Multi-Service Organizations. The training topics are standardized with suggested teaching points that allow for consistency throughout the field. This training offers the necessary “core,” or basic knowledge and skills, to provide competent and effective sexual assault services to meet the specialized needs of victims impacted by sexual violence.
