Campus Liason: Beth Tyler
Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students
Beth has been with Indiana University Northwest since August 2011, when she was hired as Executive Director of Retention Initiatives. Since, then, her position has been redefined and re-titled Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students. In that capacity Beth provides vision and leadership for all student success and completion initiatives operated out of the division and supervises the various administrative units that offer support integral to student success. Prior to coming to IU, Beth was the chief student affairs officer at Lake Forest College, a private residential liberal arts college in Lake Forest, Illinois, where she oversaw student conduct administration, residence life, health and wellness, intercultural relations, and public safety, among other offices. In that capacity she gained firsthand knowledge of the serious issue of sexual assault on college campuses and witnessed the havoc it wreaked on the campus community, which continues to motivate her to work to end gender violence on and off college campuses. Beth earned her Master’s Degree in the division of the Humanities at the University of Chicago in 2000.
